State of the art hardware
Hardware varies in design, size and functionality depending on a company’s requirements. This may be mag stripe or barcode ‘swipe’ terminals to proximity or smartcard type. Alternatively, biometric solutions are also available, which are extremely reliable and prevent the art of ‘buddy-punching’ (ensuring employees are who they say they are).
Biometric terminals are now one of the most cost effective solutions and range from finger/thumb print to hand geometry and iris scanning.
